My thanks to all the exhibitors for bringing their dogs. Critique below.
Crystal Palace Canine Society – 15th November 2008 – Deerhounds
Thank you to the Society for inviting me and making me so welcome, also to all the exhibitors, for the lovely entry.
Junior 6/6
A superb class with five gorgeous puppies and one striking Junior. 1st Tress’s Trentdale Glamis - 14 month old bitch, with a feminine head, dark eye and that lovely far away expression. Neat ears, good length neck on a correct shoulder and a good front. Chest developing its depth and spring of rib. Plenty of length of body, with good broad quarters. Moved very well and won the class with ease.
2nd. Everard’s Hyndsight Nebula (TAF) - 9 month old puppy dog enjoying his first show outing. Well boned strong dog, with a beautiful head and lovely soft expression. Neat ears, good length of neck and correct shoulder. Good front and neat feet. Excellent length of body, good deep chest, tuck up and good quarters. Moved well and with drive. Best Puppy.
Postgraduate 5/5
1st Barter’s Stainlonan Bit of Ehlaradawn – 3 years old attractive bitch. Feminine head, with a typical expression. Straight front, and neat feet. Well bodied, with good quarters and low set hocks. Moved well. RBOB.
2nd Lucas & Dargonne’s Packway Photo Finish – 2 year old bitch. Another lovely bitch with a good deep chest, neat feet and correct front. Balanced angles and low set hocks, just did not move as well as today’s winner.
Open 6/4
1st Redmond’s Hyndsight Mystical with Greybrows – 4 year old bitch. From the tip of her aqualine nose to the end of her correctly set on tail this bitch typifies a deerhound. Not exaggerated, but with a lovely head, dark eye, neat ears, good forechest , spring of rib and tuck up. Quality crisp coat. She moved around the ring with easy, graceful, correct movement. BOB.
2nd. Barter’s Brutus Fraxinus of Ehlaradawn - 3 year old dog. Another lovely dog, with a handsome head, and dark eye. Correct front, decent depth of chest and good angle of stifle. Sound when moved.
